The host Gar met us and was extremely friendly, the next day he even dropped off extra treats for my son. The hot tub had a projector so you could watch movies while relaxing. Accommodation was spotless and very cosy.
KarenBooking.com
It was very peaceful, only a 5 min walk to the town, the hot tub was brilliant with the wee projector, the place was very clean and tidy and we got left little treats which was a bonus.

Hosted by Gar & Margaret
Margaret and I are a mature couple who love to travel, which we try to do as often as we can. Margaret loves the retail, me not so much — I tend to find the coffee spots. Margaret’s favourite song is “Where the heck is my husband?”
I love gardening, and enjoying the summer colours bursting into full display after all the work planting and nurturing the plants — as you’ll see if you ever visit my garden.
We recognise and enjoy good hospitality, and that in turn is what we provide.

A Peaceful, Private Getaway
No parties, no outside visitors, and kept for guests who want to switch off — which is exactly why it stays so quiet. The practical bits are below.
🏡 The House
- Smoke-free inside — the deck is yours if you need it.
- No pets, so the cabin stays allergy-friendly for every guest.
- Just your party — no extra visitors, and no parties.
- No music or loud noise outside after 10:30 PM — we have close neighbours, and it’s part of why it’s so peaceful.
- Two nights minimum for stays including a Friday or Saturday in peak season. Sunday to Thursday, single nights are always available.
- No EV charging at the cabin — the outdoor sockets and cabin electrics are not built for continuous high load, so it is not something we can allow. There are public charge points nearby.
💦 The Hot Tub
- Pre-heated to 37.5°C and sanitised before your arrival.
- Please replace cover after each use to maintain heat.
- No fake tan, oils or drinks in the tub — it keeps the water clean for the next guests.
- No glass near the tub, for obvious barefoot reasons.
- Open 9:30 AM to 10:30 PM daily, with privacy curtains on the front.
- Easy-to-use jets & ambient lighting controls mounted on side.
🚗 Practical Details
- Parking for up to four cars, directly outside the cabin.
- Fast free WiFi throughout — guests rate it 10/10, so a working day from the cabin is no trouble.
- Oil-fired central heating, two electric blow heaters for instant warmth if you want it, and the log burner for the evening.
- Large shower room with full toiletries, hairdryer and towels provided.
- One single step at the front door. Everything else is on the level.
- No separate cleaning fee — the nightly rate is the rate.
How to Pay Less for a Staycation
The things that actually move the price, from the person setting it.
No platform fees to cover, so the rate here is 5% below our standard rates on Airbnb, Booking.com and VRBO. A genuine win-win.
Fridays and Saturdays carry demand pricing. Sunday to Thursday is the sweet spot, and single nights are always available midweek.
Two nights usually works out better per night than one. The Friday and Saturday package is £503 rather than £521.
Romance and birthday set-ups, treatments in the cabin, early check-in. Not everything is listed — just ask.
Familiar faces matter. Returning guests are looked after.

Questions Guests Ask
The short answers. Anything else, message Gar on WhatsApp and he comes back to you himself.
Is there parking?
Yes — room for up to four cars directly outside the cabin, and it is yours for the stay.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check in from 2 PM, check out by 12 noon. Your host meets you at the cabin to show you round; for a late arrival he may leave the key in a secure lockbox and send you the code instead.
Is the hot tub private?
Completely. It is covered, screened with privacy curtains across the front, and used by nobody but you while you are staying.
Can we bring another couple, or have visitors?
No. The cabin sleeps two to four and is for the guests named on the booking — no additional unregistered guests or visitors. It is a good part of why it stays as quiet as it does.
How do we pay?
Secure payment by bank transfer, straight to Gar. Nothing is taken on this website and no card details are asked for anywhere on it — you send your dates, he confirms the total, and payment is arranged between the two of you.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation and refund policies are based on the T&Cs of your booking.
Is there a cleaning fee?
No. The nightly rate is what you pay.
